Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

And, another note from our new home owner in Nova Scotia who is also moving piles of wood chips around his rocky, hilly property…

“This is the reason I thought of the Big Slider. We have so many rocks to move over rough terrain that a wheel barrow would have been a pain.

Even when its loaded to the max. weight, the Slider just flows over the other rocks like a wave.

Wow – we love that BigSlider™ heavy duty tray is riding the rocks in Nova Scotia! Thanks for sharing your story and photos, AB! Jeri

Easily move heavy pots, Helping hand for a widow!

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Just received this note of encouragement from a widow in California who needed to move heavy pots with trees in them! She is glad to not ask for help…Jeri

“Dear Geri,

Well I just tried my Big Slider for the first time, moving trees in 24″ pots with wet soil.  I have no idea how much they weigh, but I am guessing at least 150 #.  The slider worked like magic, I was able to move the pots by myself (I am a 65 year old out of shape widow lady with bad knees, etc etc). It was amazing!!!  To tell the truth, I was really skeptical of the claims, but they are true.  I am alone and am really tired of asking for help to move heavy things, and I think my Slider will be my new “guy helper” though I have not figured out the rope use yet, but so far have not needed it.

Anyway, I just wanted to say how great this product is and am saving up to buy a couple of the small sliders for my pot/pan cupboard, I think there is a cast iron dutch oven in the back that I have not seen in years.

Gratefully,

Our new home owner in Nova Scotia also uses the heavy duty tray for moving soil and

wood chips!

“We have recently built a new home on an acre of forest land. We had to clear many of the trees and I now need to move the piles of chips which we turned them into.

As well, the soil is very rocky here so there are piles of large and small rocks as well as new top soil and potting soils, etc. which must be moved around.

Build a Patio?

Monday, September 13th, 2010

We just got a note from one of our customers telling us how Bigslider™ helps him in building a patio.

“I am using your product to drag concrete blocks at my daughters house to build a patio.”

He also related how he learned about our product when he saw a demo on HDTV years ago. At that time, he had no immediate use for a Bigslider™, but he remembered it, and when he did need it, he went looking on the Internet.

After some false starts, he reports that he finally located us by searching for “plastic or rubber mat used to slide plants or objects across grass or surfaces”. We will be making a few changes to our site to make it easier to find and appreciate the feedback we got from Kent. Thanks, Kent, and we hope you enjoy using your new Bigslider™!

For some pictures and detail about using Bigslider™ on a patio repair project, go to our blog about doing just that!

“ToolGirl” Mag Ruffman’s How to Move a Tree review

Monday, August 16th, 2010

After all the suspense, you finally get to read Mag Ruffman’s review — rather than hearing about it from breathless Canadian customers. Very informative and entertaining – Thanks, Mag!

Go Mag Ruffman, ToolGirl! Wheelbarrow Alternative, Green Packing

Monday, August 16th, 2010

“There is a regular DIY column in our paper written by Mag Ruffman. She featured it and said it was a great product. It just happens that I was looking for an alternative to the standard wheelbarrow for my new home.

Regards, AB, Nova Scotia”

We just received an order from Nova Scotia, and FEDEX ground is the only way to get the Heavy Duty Tray to Canada at a semi-reasonable price. Our packing is very “green” since the Heavy Duty Tray, rope and handle are so tough that we just cable-tie and tag them. Your only waste is six HDPE cable ties, which are #2 recyclable.

Mag Ruffman, the ToolGirl, favorite new tool? BigSlider™

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

As you know from our prior blog Mag Ruffman, Canadian extraordinaire of ToolGirl fame (toolgirl.com), gave glowing reviews to BigSlider™ Professional model in her weekly column. So far we’ve had purchases from both Nova Scotia and British Columbia. Hopefully we’ll migrate inland now.

We’re going to post the review in about a week when she puts it up on her blog, but in the mean time here’s what she said in our email correspondence…

“…congratulations.  Your Big Slider is a great product – it’s my favourite new tool, and believe me, I have a lot of tools!”
Mag

Thanks for the kudos Mag, and we can’t wait to read and publish the full review.
