How-to #12: Power Wash Your Driveway (so it's streak-free and stays white!)
October 09, 2018 by Jeri Masterson In News
Our neighbor always has the most BEAUTIFULLY white sidewalk and driveway, an extremely difficult feat in our moldy, algae-forming subtropical environment. I asked him how he kept it so pristine - and cleaned without streaks. Here's what I found out.
1. If you use a wand on your power washer, you will end up with streaks. Always use a surface cleaner with rotating jets (Briggs & Stratton Power Clean?)...or any unit with metal (not plastic) rotating jets. It has an 18" diameter of uniform cleaning power! You can rent them at Home Depot or Lowe's.
2. After you've finished power washing, use your weed sprayer to damp-spray the sidewalk and driveway with a solution of Clorox to Water of 1:2 or 1:3. This adds MONTHS of results to your hours of effort.
