How-to #18: Clean oily cat fur
October 30, 2018 by Jeri Masterson In News
A show cat owner was just raving about this product for cleaning oily fur: Starwest Botanicals Fuller's Earth Powder. Use a powder shaker or your fingers (as if putting a little salt over your food) to sprinkle the powder on your pet. Work the powder down to the skin with your fingers. Let it sit about five minutes then brush or comb it out...et Voila! Better than a dirt bath LOL.
Starwest also tells us it's "used by wool textile workers to remove the oil from sheep's wool. It is absorbent enough to soak up auto oil and is also often used in kitty litter. Due to its absorbent properties, Fuller's Earth is used as a base in facial skin applications geared towards oily and acne-prone skin."
Well, we just wanted a cleaner cat :-)
